Anniversary Weekend in Wilmington

We just came home from a quick weekend trip to Wilmington where we celebrated our 5th wedding anniversary.  It was our first time being away overnight from Lucy.  My parents were very excited to have some extra time with her though & would probably pay us to go away more often.  The weather could not have been more perfect!  We took the Southport Ferry on our way to Wrightsville beach, where we enjoyed a few hours in the sun & beer battered mahi mahi tacos. The ocean was surprisingly blue and very clear compared to our murky, take your chances & hope for the best, Folly Beach water.

In the afternoon, we strolled downtown Wilmington and did a little exploring.  We love finding good local food, coffee, and beer and that's just what we did.  In between some boutique shopping of course!  One of the favorite things we discovered was 24 South Coffee House that served nitrogen infused cold brew coffee that they serve on tap.  It was ice cold, a little bubbly, and didn't even need added cream or sugar.  If your an iced coffee/cold brew fan like I am, it is a must try.

Two of my favorite boutiques I found included Coastal Vibe and Aqua Fedora.  Coastal Vibe had amazing home pieces Joanna Gaines style with a coastal feel.  Aqua Fedora was a very affordable clothing and jewelry boutique.  I wish I wasn't so sticky from the beach and the heat or I would have tried on some of their clothes, but I did find a long pendant necklace and a few pairs of tassel earrings.  Shop on Wine Thursdays every first Thursday of the month from 5-8p.m.  They will give you free wine to sip and the entire store is 20% off!

O the breweries, so many to choose from!  My favorite brewery we went to was Flytrap.  I loved the style of this place, all of the woods and metals.  It was very laid back and had great music...and beer!

We may or may not have literally ran to pick up this sweet girl after Sunday brunch :).  Life is just so much sweeter with her in it.
