Friday Favorites

Hello Fridayyy!  Our little family survived the week returning to work after winter break.  As a teacher, I am so so thankful for the breaks we receive.  They are appreciated beyond measure and help me recharge and relax, but it is always harder than expected to get back into a routine.  So many of my teacher friends said they were ready for routine again after returning from break, I think I could go my whole life without routine and not miss it one bit ha!  For now though, it is teaching calendar and holding morning meetings with a room full of four year olds over sipping coffee while chasing our toddler until our next break comes along (or a weekend).  Thankful for a job that gives me the chance to have the best of both worlds.

Before the lovely weekend, I wanted to share some of the things I am loving right now:

1. The Happy Hour with Jamie Ivey podcast // I can't say enough good things about this podcast.  Besides listening to sermons, this is the first podcast I have listened to and I am hooked.  My friend Taylor shared this with me over coffee a few weeks ago and I am so thankful she did.  Each week the host, Jamie Ivey, invites a girlfriend to talk about the big things in life, the small things, and everything in between.  Topics include marriage, faith, children, parenting, sorrow, grief, joy, justice, books, what they are loving, plus so much more. I have found it to be so encouraging in so many ways.  To subscribe to the show go to or search it under the podcast app on your iphone.

2.Beechwood Bergamot Candle // This candle smells so light and fresh.  As sad as I am to put away my evergreen candles, this is helping.

3. Birchbox // Birchbox offers a gift subscription option that I have recently discovered.  You can send a 3 month subscription to a friend, how fun!  Each month, they will receive 5 top rated beauty product samples in the mail.  With Birchbox, you can try a variety of products and pick new favorites.  Very fun for the product lovers in your life.

4. Present Over Perfect // This book is changing the way so many of my friends think, including myself.  Learning a way to live, marked by grace, love, rest, and play.  This book encourages the practice of simply being present, in the middle of the mess and the ordinariness of life.  Something I am striving to do.

5. Trader Joes Coffee // I picked up this blend of coffee on our latest Trader Joe's run and it is delicious.  This extra dark roast is full bodied and has cocoa & brown sugar notes.  I buy it whole bean and grind it fresh every morning.  It takes longer, but I think the taste is worth the extra time.

Have a lovely weekend friends!
